We are approaching that time of year when giving a gift to someone means something special. Because of that, I wanted to share the value of giving.

  • Ha‘awi lokomaika‘i means giving freely, openly; doing something right.
  • Ha‘awi wale means giving without expecting anything in return.
  • Ha‘awi manawale‘a means giving gladly. A kind word, a friendly greeting, or a hug can be as precious as a tangible gift.

Giving a special gift (tangible, spiritual, or personal) shows others you care about them and may help uplift and encourage them to focus on the good and let go of the effects of the bad which can be very draining on the body and mind. Your ALOHA may be the only gift they need.
