Community Garden Workshop: Grow Your Own Lāʻau – POSTPONED

05/09/2020 @ 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Learn about Hawaiian medicinal plants known as Lāʻau Lapaʻau while helping us install a community garden at this FREE workshop. Other components that will be part of the workshop are propagation, cultivation, harvesting, and proper protocol.

To maximize your experience please bring your gardening gloves and be prepared to do a lot of lifting and bending. Hui Mālama Ola Nā ʻŌiwi will be providing light refreshments.

For more information or to sign-up, please call us at (808) 969-9220 or visit hmono.org/classes.

Directions:

Accessible from Lindsay Road. Drive past the Waimea Post Office (on your right). Where the paved road turns left to go to Kahilu Theatre, you will see a dirt road going right into the yellow and red gate for the school. Take that road toward the school. The garden is immediately on your left after you enter the gate. Park immediately in front of the hedge, or across the road in the field.
